The Jade Buddha Temple - well maintained. The ritual of visitors calligraphically writing the Chinese prayers (on pre-printed scrolls) was new to me. Could take hours!

But tracing how Buddha and his representations along with Sakyamuni, Avalokiteswara and other forms change over 1500 years is truly interesting. The pottery section - very intricate but repetitive motifs. Not much of animals, floral, ornamental and/or deities etc. But expressive!

Underlit but majestic section with massive original canvasses from Chinese masters from an era beyond Ming dynasty.

Paper currencies from early 1900s - one from the early HSBC (?) for China, India and Australia - what a combination!
