I captured a lot of stories - mostly Buddhist representations not as intricate as you would see in India. But tracing how Buddha and his representations along with Sakyamuni, Avalokiteswara and other forms change over 1500 years is truly interesting. From India to Gandhara style to finally Chinese Buddha...

Paper currencies from early 1900s - one from the early HSBC (?) for China, India and Australia - what a combination!



Coins Section, The Shanghai Museum

These collections, largely from two Chinese Numismatics experts, include coins from Taxila, Magadha, Kalinga, Anga, Persia, Silk Road and Alexander's Greece.The best? - A coin from the Great Khan, no not the 3 from India, the Chenghiz Khan from Mongolia.


Never seen anything like this before.
