Pottery Section, The Shanghai Museum

Painting Section, The Shanghai Museum

Underlit but majestic section with massive original canvasses from Chinese masters from an era beyond Ming dynasty.

Currency Section, The Shanghai Museum

Paper currencies from early 1900s - one from the early HSBC (?) for China, India and Australia - what a combination!

Coins Section, The Shanghai Museum

These collections, largely from two Chinese Numismatics experts, include coins from Taxila, Magadha, Kalinga, Anga, Persia, Silk Road and Alexander's Greece. The best? - A coin from the Great Khan, no not the 3 from India, the Chenghiz Khan from Mongolia.

Never seen anything like this before.

Ceramics Section, The Shanghai Museum

This section is the deal clincher - it was an amazing display of 1500 years' worth of ceramics - look for artefacts with Sanskrit, Tibetan and Arabic inscriptions, highlighting India's and Silk Road's influence on China.
